Joe Douglas

In his seventh year as an area scout for the team, Joe Douglas moved into the Southeast region in 2009. He is responsible for scouting the SEC, ACC, Conference USA, and Southern conferences. Douglas, who originally joined Baltimore as a player personnel assistant in 2000, also organizes and coordinates the post-draft undrafted free agent signing process.

2000-09: (with Baltimore) 2009: Team selected ‘09 draft picks TE Davon Drew (East Carolina) and RB Cedric Peerman (Viginia) from Joe’s area...Is assigned the linebacker position and reports on all of the LBs considered “draftable” by the Ravens.

2008: Evaluated players on the entire East Coast...Played a key role in scouting and evaluating Ravens ’08 first-round pick QB Joe Flacco.

2003-07: Scouted the Northeast for the Ravens.

2000-02: Joined the Ravens as a football personnel assistant and worked mainly with the college scouting staff in a number of roles, including coordinating college workouts and draft visits, plus spring and fall scouting...Douglas was also in charge of the team’s college video library and assisted the pro personnel department in the advance special teams evaluations of Ravens opponents and unrestricted free agents.

College/Personal: A communications major and sports administration minor at the University of Richmond, Joe started every game since his freshman year at tackle, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors his senior year...Spent the 1999 season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Richmond football team...His former Richmond coach, Jim Reid, is the Dolphins’ outside linebackers coach, his former O-line coach at Richmond, Frank Leonard, is the Rams’ tight ends coach, and his former teammate, LB Paris Lenon, plays for the Patriots...Douglas, who was a two-time All-State football player at Lee-Davis (Mechanicsville, VA) HS, lives with his wife, Shannon, daughter, Addison (3), and son, Thomas (1), in Baltimore.
